Creating a sequential autoresponder campaign is a very effective way to reach and market to people who have already expressed interest in your products. People are more likely to purchase after being exposed to a product message multiple times. With autoresponders your website visitors actually request that you email information to them.
So how do you craft your message for maximum results?
- Headlines: Catchy headlines hook your reader and get them to read your message. The headline should be specific and action oriented.
- Build Trust: Provide valuable information, a guarantee or testimonials to help build trust. Your message should be formatted to deliver a clear and concise message.
- Active Voice: The active voice is direct and much stronger. Examples: (passive) emails written in short sentences are easier to read; (active) write emails in short and easy to read sentences.
- Customer Focused: The message needs to focus on your customer and the problem he wants to solve. Avoid writing about how great your company is. “Don’t talk to me about your tires, talk to me about my car.”
- Benefits: You are selling benefits more than a product. Your prospect is looking to for a solution to a specific problem. Explain how you will solve his problem.
- Write to one person: Your message is read by only one person at a time. Engage your prospect by talking directly to him.
- Informal Writing: Write in an informal and conversational style. Write like you talk. Don’t be too technical or you will lose your readers.
- Call to Action: Ask your reader to take action. It could be call now, visit your website or to click the purchase link in the email.
