The Nike logo was created by Carolyn Davidson in 1971 while she was a graphic design student at Portland State University. Carolyn presented a number of designs and all were rejected by Phil Knight except for the “swoosh” logo. At the time, Phil Knight stated of the logo, “I don’t love it, but it will grow on me.”

The Nike logo is said to represent the wing in the famous statue of the Greek Goddess of victory, Nike.

They tested some logo design firms who cater to the online market (Logo Company, LogoDesignCreation.com, etc.). I’ve tried logodesigncreation and their work is very good considering their affordable price.
