Looking for jobs online could be difficult. You really have to look out for those scams. As soon as they ask you to pay for something, then thats when the red flag should start.
When looking for jobs offline and maybe in the real world, not in cyber space, check out this book Getting from College to Career It really can help you with any questions you may have, or visiting the authors website, Lindsey Pollak, She has an ask Lindsey column which is really helpful for all those questions you may have. Check it out, it's really a great resource!

[...] Posting your video resume on YouTube is supposed to get you noticed, according to some. One article on video resumes says that you can search “resume” on YouTube and you’ll get 15,000 results–but that of course, only about seven of them are any good. In fact, one of the main arguments for video resumes seems to be that “everyone is doing it, so we might as well get used to it.” That’s not much of an argument. [...]

Great post. I find it very useful and informative. A service I also find useful is a new online resource called ActiveJobseekers.com. It is a a place where job seekers Actively looking for jobs can create resumes for free and also announce their availability to employers.

Employers can then contact these job seekers knowing fully well that the candidate is actively looking for job.
