Your Website is Your Business Image

A great website is a piece of art that gets results. Design is meant to convey emotion and affect the visitor at a subconscious level. Why is it important to understand the emotional response to design?  People will shop logically, but purchase emotionally.

The look and feel sets the mood and readies the visitor to listen. It defines your image as a player in your industry. It is the visual and emotional element that tells the visitor that he has arrived to the right place. This includes the organization, the simple elegance that guides your eyes to what is truly important.

Would you eat at a restaurant that was filthy and had piles of dirty dishes on the tables? Would you buy a car from a car lot that had wrecked cars parked between the other cars that are for sale? Well I wouldn’t and you shouldn’t either.

An elaborate, ornate or showy design will confuse and hide your message. It can distract the visitor from taking action. When designing a business website, it is important to use design to highlight and enhance the message. Keep your design quieter, simple and elegant with a focus on helping the content tell its story.

What does your website tell a visitor about your company? Does it tell them that you are a seasoned professional that knows exactly what to do? Your website is a direct reflection on the quality of products and services that you can provide. A good business web design will make or break a sale. A poorly designed website will send visitors fleeing away before they see your message.

  1. Nice post! A good web design must capture the attention of consumers and suit to their information and shopping needs.
